A story from Victoria, British Columbia, of one young man who, despite a crippling malady, is determined to experience as many of life's offerings as possible. Brian Wilson is spastic, confined to a wheelchair, but he works at a job, looks after himself, and moves about from place to place on his own. Every day has its challenges and victories, and sometimes defeats. With this example of personal courage, the film provides insight into the private and daily struggle of the disabled.

Sending my deepest sympathy to the family with the loss of Brian. What a beautiful film !I was moved to tears watching it, and so very sorry that we didn't know about it earlier. My late husband was Jim Hannah, and he always had such fond memories of his time spent at the Ranch, so many years ago.Thank you also , Sandy ,for My American Cousin.Another sentimental movie; we were so fortunate to grow up in the Okanagan, at that time.

Thank you for including this film of Brian life in his obituary..well done. I am so sorry to read of his passing. I first knew Brian back in O'connell School where I used to help him down the stairs, move his chair and open doors for him..at the time there was no easy access or support for any disabilities. He was kind, funny and had a great smile and laugh. Later in the early 70's, we came upon each other several times at his apartment building in Victoria/Esquimalt where my grandfather also lived and again his huge smile greeted me. Brian was one of the main reasons why I became a teaching assistant for special needs in the Penticton School District. My sincere sympathies to all of you; Sandy, Guy, Matt, Elaine and Nonie for your loss of an incredible brother who I know loved his wonderfully crazy siblings. Jule Matser (Maluorno)
