Despite the awareness about the abuse in Attiya’s and Steve’s relationship, why did nobody intervene? Comment on why their individual history is never fully disclosed in the film.  Identify the signs that showed that Attiya’s and Steve’s relationship was an unhealthy one. How does Steve’s participation in Attiya’s healing atone for his past and pave the way for him to become “a better man”? Discuss whether contemporary attitudes about relationship violence have given individuals greater power in interrupting this pattern. Explain.
