The Faith Project is an interactive documentary and app that features evocative short films about being spiritual in the modern world. This accompanying six-part video discussion series was developed to assist educators in exploring the diverse perspectives that exist across religious, spiritual and cultural lines among an array of young people practising various faith traditions in Canada. We encourage educators to begin an ongoing discussion on the many different faiths that are practised throughout the country and to use this project as a springboard to a thoughtful conversation about what it means to be spiritual.

Muslim women are disconcerting, intriguing, polarizing—and straitjacketed by conflations of ideas in front-page stories. While the media tend to portray them as submissive and silenced, filmmaker Saïda Ouchaou-Ozarowski has chosen to distance herself from that caricature, with which she does not identify. She sat down with six Muslim Canadian women eager to talk about what shapes their identities. The resulting documentary, In Full Voice, offers an intimate perspective on the journey of these women, who have a common desire to share their visions of Islam.

This documentary is a portrait of modern-day Pondicherry, an ancient city near the southern tip of India. For several centuries an outpost of France, the city is now home to Auroville, a spiritual community growing on its periphery. There, European and North American devotees of Sri Aurobindo, a Bengali poet and mystic, come to live the contemplative life. Their guru is a 94-year-old woman from France. This mecca of sorts is seen through the eyes of Albert Jordan, a professor from Concordia University, in Montreal, who spent a year there with his family in 1971.
