An animated short film from the Talespinners playlist, Oma’s Quilt tells the story of a grandmother who is not ready to leave for a retirement home, but her house is sold, and it is time to go. Her granddaughter creates a quilt with some treasured material to help her adjust to her new home. Children will have difficult questions, like why did the grandmother have to move if she did not want to? Why is the granddaughter worried about the grandmother? What type of material went into the quilt? Children may also relate this story to their own experience with grandparents who have had to move.
