Suzanne Guèvremont became Government Film Commissioner and Chairperson of the NFB in November 2022. She is the third woman and first Francophone woman to hold this position.
With more than 25 years’ management experience in the higher education, culture and technology sectors, Ms. Guèvremont has been recognized for her significant contributions to the development and vitality of creative industries.
She was the Director of Montreal’s École des arts numériques, de l’animation et du design (NAD-UQAC) from 1999 to 2022, and under her leadership the school became a globally recognized university.
Ms. Guèvremont has served on a number of boards of national organizations. In addition, she is a sought-after speaker, both in Canada and internationally.
Anne-Marie Withenshaw has been a bilingual Canadian radio and TV mainstay since 1998. A 15-time Gémeaux and two-time Canadian Screen Awards nominee, she won the 2024 best host Gémeau for her role on C’est juste de la TV.
She began her career interviewing rock royalty as a MusiquePlus VJ and later covered festivals and galas all over the world as a reporter for the entertainment daily Flash. She went on to produce several cooking shows, including Chuck’s Day Off. Anne-Marie has also hosted the Canada Day in the Capital festivities five times since 2012.
In 2024, she launched her own line of gourmet scones and cakes, Withenshaw by Anne-Marie, drawing on cherished family recipes inspired by both British and Québécois traditions.
