Cette adaptation animée visionnaire d’une nouvelle du conteur tlicho déné primé Richard Van Camp a été conçue par la réalisatrice métisse (michif) Amanda Strong et Spotted Fawn Productions, en collaboration avec l’Office national du film du Canada. Dans deux générations d’ici, le monde vacille. Cherchant à se défendre contre une horde de monstres affamés, Dove, une jeune personne dotée d’une fluidité naturelle entre le masculin et le féminin, découvre les forces et les périls de son Inkwo (médecine autochtone). Le courage et la résilience de Dove ainsi que son alliance avec la Terre sont mis à rude épreuve lorsqu’il lui faut combattre ces créatures sanguinaires qui puisent de nouvelles forces dans chaque corps qu’elles dévorent. Au fil de son parcours, Dove crée un lien avec une grenouille qui lui vient en aide et établit des alliances qui transcendent la limite entre l’humain et l’animal.
