Five years ago, an act of terror took the lives of six people at the Grand Mosque in Quebec City and seriously injured 19 others. The Government of Canada recognized that Islamophobia, hatred and radicalization—and the denial of these realities—were at the root of this horrifying crime. The NFB is commemorating the National Day of Remembrance of the Quebec City Mosque Attack and Action Against Islamophobia (January 29th) through a playlist of NFB films that lift the voices of Canadians of Muslim faith and address Islamophobia in our society. It is our hope that these films will give viewers both insight and a deeper appreciation for the lives of all Canadians.
