Log House

1976 27 min
Coming soon

This film is about the building of a traditional log cabin in Québec. It starts with the tree and finishes with the housewarming. While it is not a realistic housing option for many Canadians, it does provide encouragement for all of us to re-examine the resources around us that we may not be using effectively, if at all.

Education

Ages 13 to 15

English Language Arts - Journalism
Languages - English as a Second Language

Have students watch the film in their mother tongue, and then write a text in their second language. They must write a detailed description, respecting the steps shown in the film, listing all the stages in the construction of a log cabin. The text must be detailed and accurate enough so that anyone who has not seen the film would be able to succeed in building a cabin.
