An Atikamekw artist from Manawan, Quebec, Thérèse Ottawa honours her people and culture with work like Red Path, a film made through Tremplin NIKANIK, a program co-sponsored by the NFB and the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) with a view to supporting Indigenous francophone filmmakers in Quebec. In 2012, Ottawa helped establish Tewekan Vision, a production unit dedicated to enhancing the Indigenous presence within Canada’s film industry.
