This short film pays tribute to one of the founding fathers of Quebec comedy - Yvon Deschamps. Celebrating 5 decades in the spotlight, he first stepped onto the scene at the height of the Quiet Revolution, going on to forge the province's vibrant tradition of satirical comedy.
Whether musing on troubled teens or trade unions, his humour and generosity have won Deschamps a special place in the hearts of Quebeckers. More than a star, he's a member of the family.
Produced by the National Film Board of Canada in co-operation with the National Arts Centre and the Governor General's Performing Arts Awards Foundation on the occasion of the 2011 Governor General's Performing Arts Awards.
