This documentary takes us back to August 2014, when ISIS released their recording of the execution of American conflict journalist James Foley. But 40-year-old Foley was more than just the victim of this brutal killing. Foley’s childhood friend, filmmaker Brian Oakes, takes viewers from small-town New England to the front lines of Libya and Syria, where Foley pushed the limits of danger to report on the plight of civilians impacted by war. Foley’s family, friends, and colleagues help tell Jim’s story, while his fellow hostages reveal the details of captivity.
