Synopsis

Ce documentaire nous apprend que les forêts canadiennes contribuèrent à l'effort exigé par la Deuxième Guerre mondiale. De grandes quantités de bois canadien furent expédiées, entre autres, en Angleterre pour la construction de baraques et d'avions, l'étayage dans les mines et la fabrication de pâte à papier. L'épuisement des ressources forestières était déjà un sujet d'inquiétude en 1940 au Canada. Des actions, tant à l'est qu'à l'ouest du pays, tels l'éducation sur les incendies de forêt, l'implantation d'un système de gardiens et le reboisement, furent donc réalisées pour protéger cette ressource naturelle.
