This short documentary is part of the Science and the Top of the World series, which profiles the eco-systems of the Canadian Arctic and the people who study, monitor, and live in them. Just a few hundred kilometers from the North Pole, a battle is raging between the winners and losers of climate change. The battleground is the unique aquatic ecosystems locked in the ice of the far north. This video provides a snapshot into the rapidly changing landscape of the far north, touching on the collapse of the Markham Ice Shelf and the Ward Hunt Ice shelf.
