His rich legacy includes some of Canada's most best-loved films: Mon oncle Antoine, A Chairy Tale (co-directed with Norman McLaren), À tout prendre, WOW and Kamouraska. Such Jutra contemporaries as Bernardo Bertolucci, Geneviève Bujold, Michel Brault and Saul Rubinek provide a vivid account of the man and his times. Archival materials and film excerpts also offer insight into the life and work of an artist who rubbed shoulders with famed French directors Truffaut, Cocteau and Rouch. The film shows Jutra as a sensitive soul buffeted by the world, a brilliant creator who gave his life completely to cinema.
