Debate the issue of cultural appropriation by developing resolutions which address the ethical consequences in taking symbols, traditions, and art from another culture. Extension activities could include examining music that borrows from other musical traditions (e.g. The Beatles, Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel). Compare and contrast the presence of knock-off First Nations art in souvenir stands with the use of the Hindu Om symbol to market yoga and athletic wear.
