Victoria Bridge: The 8th Wonder

In this short film, a collection of images create a colourful collage depicting the construction and opening of Montreal's Victoria Bridge. Considered an engineering marvel at the time, it was the first bridge to span the St. Lawrence River, connecting Montreal to the South Shore by rail.

“My great grandfather, Alexander Minto, a Scot, was one of the engineers involved in the construction of the Victoria Bridge. He was also involved in the construction or delivery of locomotives for the Grand Trunk Railway from Montreal Locomotive Works; in the construction of the Sarnia Detroit Railway tunnel (another wonder of the world); and in Grand Trunk Railway's operations centred out of Belville Ontario. I have no photogragh of him, but since he was involved in the Victoria Bridge and other high profile railway projects of the time, there must be at least one photograph of him in an archive. I would love to get my hands on a copy of one. Is there anyone out there that could offer suggestion on how to do this?”
