This short film presents the intensely personal story of Namrata Gill – one of many real-life inspirations for Deepa Mehta's Heaven on Earth – told in her own words. After six years, she courageously leaves an abusive relationship and launches a surprising new career.

In this clip, we see how Namrata's experiences in Canada were limited to marriage, motherhood and long hours at work.
