Un court métrage d'animation inspiré par La légende du canot d'écorce, mieux connue sous le nom de La chasse-galerie. Publié pour la première fois en 1891 par Honoré Beaugrand, ce conte folklorique raconte l'histoire de bûcherons qui, partis travailler dans un camp isolé dans la vallée de la rivière Gatineau pour l'hiver, concluent un pacte avec le diable pour pouvoir passer la veille du jour de l'An auprès de leurs parents et amis.
