A central theme of the film is remembering where one comes from (50:35). Trace how both Corey and Frank Lee develop their relationship based on memories from their pasts. Frank says that when he came to Canada he wanted to “forget his past” (24:00). Ask students to discuss whether one can ever truly forget their past. How does the use of a comic-book aesthetic add to the narrative? Have students create a short comic strip that illustrates an event in their life.
