This short film pays tribute to Denis Marleau, a major figure in Quebec theatre. A director, production designer and creator of stage installations, his work is distinguished by challenging literary choices, meticulous direction and innovative use of audio and video technology. Drawing freely from visual arts and literature, his productions probe the relationship between material reality and consciousness as well as the limits of stage performance.
Produced by the National Film Board of Canada in co-operation with the National Arts Centre and the Governor General's Performing Arts Awards Foundation on the occasion of the 2012 Governor General's Performing Arts Awards.
