As waves break unceasingly on the shore, Retouches marks time with a perpetual round of movement, each one correcting and changing the environment. Georges Schwizgebel loves to steer us into new ways of perceiving. He turns someone going upstairs into a hurdler and hair being brushed into a windswept forest; as for a tennis game, the ball remains motionless and the court whirls spectacularly around it. Hovering between dream and reality, Retouches is the work of a visual acrobat delighting in the flexibility of animation.
